1 half of the island should be natural, not touched by humans the other side should reflect how we change it to suit our needs.

GEOGRAPHY
The influence of the environment on the human characteristics of a place (ACHGK028)

The influence people have on the human characteristics of places and the management of spaces within them (ACHGK029)

They describe the interconnections between people, places and environments and identify the effect of these interconnections on the characteristics of places and environments.

MATERIALS
Wood Board (I used 30x30cm MDF)
Newspaper
Paper mache Glue (We used watered down PDF Glue and when we ran out we used flour and water mix) Both worked fine.
Assorted paint colours
Access to natural materials (dirt, leaves etc)
Hot Glue Gun
Plasticine (optional)
Any other craft items you think would be helpful

It was a great activity as it was hands on and messy. Who doesn’t love a messy lesson (Students HAD to help clean up!!)
We didn’t talk about or considered scale as the size of the islands would have made it very hard
