Time to Discover

I attended a training night run by The Come out Festival titled Arts vs. Science.
It was run as a discussion with 5 experts and then questions after hearing from them.

It was about Arts vs Science but was centred around the idea Arts and Science working together

They spoke about having time to discover.

I think as a teacher it is vital that we are flexible with our daily timetable. There is obvious troubles with this having NIT lessons which we, as classroom teachers, and the specialist teachers can be flexible with.
As classroom teachers we are lucky enough to have more time to be flexible with.
I love allowing my students time to discover and explore while inquiring. If they are engaged in discovery there is no way I will stop them to swap over to my original day plan.

I think it is important to go where the students are leading you on the day. They may be ready for a structured day or they may be ready for discovery
